I'm Vicki, a practicing birth and postnatal doula with over 12 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the early months of parenthood across Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained, experienced birth companion who provides continuous emotional & physical support throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. Unlike a midwife, a doula doesn't provide medical care, instead they focus entirely on making sure you feel informed, supported and confident at every stage.

Research shows that having a doula present at birth may lead to a reduced risk of caesarean birth, reduced need for pain relief, shorter labour, and an increased likelihood of initiating breastfeeding. Whilst those stats are impressive, what most of my clients tell me is that having someone in their corner, someone who really knows them & the system, made all the difference.

What makes me different?

What makes me different to many doulas is the breadth of experience I bring. Having spent over a decade as an antenatal teacher before training as a doula in 2022, I combine a deep knowledge of birth preparation, infant feeding and newborn care with the hands-on support of a practicing doula. I’m also a qualified pregnancy yoga teacher, hypnobirthing practitioner, baby massage instructor and sleep consultant - which means I can offer a truly holistic package of care from pregnancy right through to the early months of parenthood.

I am passionate about providing full spectrum care, meaning I’m not just there for your birth. I’m there for the questions that pop into your head at 2am, the feeding worries, the emotional highs and lows of those first few weeks & months, and everything in between.

My doula services

I offer both birth doula and postnatal doula support, with a range of packages to suit different needs and budgets. From a focused birth preparation session to a comprehensive package covering antenatal education, birth and postnatal support. Payment plans are available.

Areas covered

I work with families across Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, including Northampton, Towcester, Whittlebury, Buckingham, Brackley, Daventry, Milton Keynes and surrounding villages. If you’re slightly outside these areas, please do get in touch as I’m happy to discuss your needs.
