My Doula Services

The most common question I hear is 'what does a doula do?' Doulas provide practical and emotional support to the birthing person & their partner. Whilst doulas are non clinical, evidence shows that by having a doula present it may:

  • Reduced risk of Caesarean birth

  • Reduced risk of instrumental birth

  • Reduced need for pain relief during birth

  • Reduced rate of induction of labour

  • Shorter labour

  • Increased likelihood of initiating breastfeeding

As your Birth Doula, my aim is to create a calm & positive environment to allow you to simply focus on your birth. Whilst you are doing what you need to do, I will be in the background making sure you have all you need, supporting your partner and liaising with your midwife.

I am able to teach you self relaxation methods, including breathing & hypnobirthing techniques, as well as how to use massage and aromatherapy to make your labour more comfortable. I am also able to provide information on birth physiology, interventions & pain relief so that if decisions need to be made, you have the knowledge to make the right choice for you & your baby. To find out more about my Birth Doula packages, click here.

I also offer Postnatal Doula support, providing emotional and practical support to you and your family in the early weeks and months post birth. Read more about the services I can offer you here.

I cover the following areas: Brackley, Towcester, Buckingham, Daventry, Banbury, Bicester, Milton Keynes and Northampton but please get in touch if you are a little further afield.

Being a doula is my passion and I would be love to discuss how I can support you through this amazing time. So please get in touch if you would like to have a free, no obligation chat.
